EastEnders' Sean Slater to quit

Actor Rob Kazinsky will be leaving EastEnders later this year, it has been confirmed.

Rob, who plays Stacey Slater's wayward brother Sean, is quitting the role he has played since May 2006 to pursue other projects.

A spokesperson for the soap said: "EastEnders can confirm that Rob Kazinsky will be leaving EastEnders later this year. We wish him all the best for the future."

Speaking of his departure, Rob said: "If I had done everything I wanted to do as an actor before I joined EastEnders I would have wanted to stay forever.

"I have really enjoyed my time at EastEnders, it's such a wonderful place to work and it's become like a second home to me. I'll be sad to go."

Rob was suspended from the soap for two months at the start of 2007, after allegedly sending suggestive text messages and a sexually explicit picture of himself to model Aimi Robinson.

Prior to EastEnders, Rob starred in Sky One's football drama Dream Team.
