Fearne Cotton lands top US TV job

Xtra Factor presenter Fearne Cotton could be the next Brit to make waves across the pond following reports that she has landed a major TV deal in the US.

Fearne, also a Radio 1 DJ, has been lined-up to host NBC's two-hour special The Guiness Book Of World Records - Live!, according to reports in The Sun.

A friend said: "It's a huge opportunity for her. Loads of British stars try to make it in Hollywood but only some succeed. She will be getting primetime exposure on one of the country's biggest channels."

And it seems there may be other offers in the pipeline for Fearne.

"There is even talk of her doing other things after the Guinness show. It's a dream come true," the source added.

Fearne reportedly flew to LA this week to meet NBC bosses and rehearse for the show, which includes a live mototcycle stunt and airs on Sunday.

She will follow in the footsteps of former ITV presenter Cat Deeley, 31, who moved to Los Angeles two years ago and was reportedly paid £2 million to front So You Think You Can Dance? currently showing on Living.
