Coronation Street: Pucker up Tracy!

Coronation Street star Jack Shepherd can't wait to tangle with Toxic Tracy Barlow in his latest juicy storyline.

And the liaison provides the young actor, who plays tearaway teen David Platt, with something he's been begging the show's bosses for ages.

"I've been asking for a girlfriend in the Street for years. I've never had an on-screen kiss, so when I read the scripts that I got Tracy Barlow, I was absolutely over the moon," he said in an interview for new ITV1 series Coronation Street Confidential.

He revealed that when his mum found out about the storyline, she reminded him to clean his teeth before the kissing scene.

And astonishingly, he says his co-star Kate Ford was more nervous than him about puckering up.

Fans of the soap will be delighted to learn the actor has another meaty storyline coming up after this one, but details about it are being kept firmly under wraps.

The kiss between David and Tracy airs on Wednesday, February 21.
