Mad May to return to EastEnders

Watch out Dawn! Mad May Wright is coming back to wreak more havoc on Albert Square in an explosive new storyline.

The crazed GP left EastEnders last June after being arrested and sectioned when she tried to steal Dawn Swann's (Kara Tointon) baby by a performing a rogue Caesarean.

May, played by Amanda Drew, returns to the square when she bumps into Jase Dyer who has no idea what she did in the past.

Producers have kept Amanda's return a secret and have even given her character a different name in the scripts.

Amanda told The Sun: "May is a gift of a role for any actor because of her complexity. I am so excited to be playing her again. It would be a shame to give too much away but she has changed in many ways."

Executive producer Diederick Santer added: "It's great to have Amanda back. Dr May is a hugely popular and exciting character, brilliantly performed by Amanda, and I'm sure viewers will be keen to see what she gets up to and how she's changed."
