Letitia Dean to star in High School Musical

Strictly Come Dancing star Letitia Dean will be dusting off her dancing shoes to take on a role in High School Musical.

The ex-EastEnders actress will play eccentric drama teacher Mrs Arbus when the show appears at the Hammersmith Apollo this summer.

"I'm so, so excited. I can't wait to get started," she reportedly told the Daily Mirror. "I adore musical theatre - I grew up loving shows like Calamity Jane. But the last time I was actually in one myself was when I was 13 and in Annie, so this is my chance to polish up what I learned in my youth."

She admits that she was aware of the show's cult status but didn't realise just how big the teen phenomenon is.

"It's very nerve wracking. I spoke to a few friends and who have children and the more I found out about it, the more I realised just how huge it is. It's just brilliant! Feelgood and fun, great music and uplifting."

Letitia: 'It's feelgood and fun and has great music.'
