Mismatched stars create an Invisible bond (VIDEO)

Mismatched stars create an Invisible bond (VIDEO)

BBC One's new comedy-drama The Invisibles combines the seemingly mismatched talents of Warren Clarke (Dalziel and Pascoe), Anthony Head (Buffy) and Dean Lennox Kelly (Shameless).

But the story of bumbling retired career thieves who relaunch their criminal careers produced a surprising alchemy, according to the stars.

Warren told whatsontv.co.uk: "It's got Anthony, who you could say is the straight guy; I'm the sidekick, the idiot sidekick; then we've got Dean, the young element in the show. We're quite a strange threesome, but it's almost like the three characters fit us like a glove, or we fit them like a glove.

"We've taken on the persona of these three guys and I think it works really well."

The six-part series premieres on BBC One on Thursday, April 30, and was written by William Ivory, and the interplay of the characters is reminiscent of his writing on Minder.

Anthony said: "Me and Warren and Dean, we laugh quite a lot. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing... but it is quite funny."
