Tarrant to host new Saturday night ITV game show

Chris Tarrant is to host a new primetime game show, The Colour of Money, ITV has announced.

The Colour Of Money features cash machines which can deliver 'life-changing' sums of money - if contestants can keep their nerve.

Chris said: "When I saw The Colour Of Money, I thought it was brilliant. It's a simple format and creates such tension."

Each cash machine contains a different amount of cash. As each second ticks by, the figure displayed increases by 1,000 pounds. The longer contestants hold their nerve, the greater the amount available to withdraw.

But if they get too greedy the machine is locked down, and they receive nothing.

Paula Warwick, commissioning editor at ITV Entertainment, said: "We're delighted to have Chris Tarrant host this brand new and exciting primetime show. He is the master of tension and suspense and is the perfect choice for this new series."

The show will appear on ITV1 next year.
