X Factor's Alexandra: 'I nearly gave up' (VIDEO)

X Factor hopeful Alexandra Burke has admitted that she almost gave up singing after she failed to make the live finals of the show in 2005.

Alexandra told whatsontv.co.uk: "I did give up three years ago because I thought to myself if the one thing I love is giving me so much heartache why am I doing it? But music will always be my first love."

Needless to say, Alexandra is pleased to have been given a second chance to fulfil her dream of becoming a singer.

She said: "I'm actually getting to live my dream and people are starting to see that I can be someone, and I'm starting to believe my worth now."

Alexandra will perform live for the first time on The X Factor on Saturday night.
