Strictly Come Dancing: Week Four!

Strictly Come Dancing: Week Four!

The fourth week of Strictly Come Dancing 2008 has seen the ladies returning to the competition to perform either a quickstep or a rumba.

First on to the dancefloor this week was One Show presenter Christine Bleakley, who with partner Matthew Cutler performed a quickstep to the Scouting For Girls hit She's So Lovely.

"you've got to be fleet of foot, move round the floor with effortless ease, and by and large I thought you did that," Len Goodman told her, although pointed out she had been "clinging on for dear life" throughout the routine.

Bruno Tonioli, meanwhile, pointed out she had "captured the spirit of a 1920s flapper".

Next it was the turn of model Jodie Kidd - hoping to avoid the dance-off this week after she was saved by the judges a fortnight ago.

However she received a mixed response for her rumba to Michael Jackson's I Just Can't Stop Loving You. Len complained about her lack of emotion, while Craig Revel Horwood described the routine as "almost pornographic".

Singer Heather Small followed with a quickstep, which again divided the panel. Craig admitted he was in two minds about the routine, while Arlene Phillips said it was "too heavy, like champagne which has gone flat".

But things picked up considerably with the arrival of Cherie Lunghi - who once again found herself at the top of the leader board, this time with a score of 35 from the judges.

"Every single inch of you worked that dance," Craig said of her rumba with partner James Jordan. "It's a cut above everything I've seen so far," Bruno added.

Then it was the turn of Jessie Wallace although the judges could not muster up much enthusiasm for her quickstep, and with 19 points she found herself bottom of the scoreboard.

"Not your finest hour," Craig said of the former EastEnders star, while Bruno struggled to find anything positive to say. "You smiled," he told her finally, "that was good."

Lisa Snowdon - who made a disappointing debut two weeks ago - followed, but this week she wowed the judges with her sultry rumba.

"Those hips and legs are going to make the wishlist of every man in the country," enthused Bruno Tonioli.

Finally, Rachel Stevens took to the floor for her quickstep with Vincent Simone - and once again the panel were impressed.

"It was fast, fleet-footed," said Arlene Phillips, "you two have the perfect little package." Craig, meanwhile, described it as "light, bright, tight and very good."

Finally it was the turn of the men to take to the floor, performing a group rueda - which was a hit with the audience as well as the judges. Once again Tom Chambers and Austin Healy were praised for their dancing.

The result will be revealed on Sunday night's show.
