Harry Hill: I almost can't bear to have the TV on

Comic TV star Harry Hill says it's 'virtually impossible' for him to watch television for fun any more because of his hit ITV show.

The comedian told Radio Times magazine that he spends hours on end watching video tapes of television programmes in preparation for Harry Hill's TV Burp.

He revealed: "It's quite a painful process because there's no limit to the amount you can watch. If you've got workaholic tendencies, you can always say, 'Yeah, I've got an hour to spare. I'll watch another Wife Swap.' It's very boring for my wife."

And Harry admits that he can no longer watch TV just for fun either: "The downside is it's virtually impossible for me to watch TV for the love of it because I've always got half an eye on the small detail.

"I almost can't bear to have it on unless I'm on the look-out for burps. It's got to the point where I'd rather do any job that doesn't involve watching hours of television. I'd even consider being a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

Harry doesn't relax in front of the box
