Dancing On Ice: Jessica finishes third!

Jessica Taylor has finished in third place in the final of Dancing On Ice 2009 - leaving Donal McIntyre and Ray Quinn to compete for the series title.

The former Liberty X singer lost out after performing two routines in the first part of the final - flying round the rink on wires for her first routine, and reprising her earlier series performance to Duffy's Mercy for her second.

Jessica - who had been second favourite to take the title - fought back tears as she left the competition, and was too overcome by emotion to say much. However she did admit she had wanted to reach the final for her mother.

"I did really want to do that for my mum for Mother's Day," she said, "and I've loved every minute of it."

Jessica's departure means she missed out on the chance to recreate Torvill and Dean's famous Bolero as her final routine of the series.

Earlier in the show she had been praised for a routine which saw her suspended on wires above the rink.

"What I loved was that you emoted all the way throughout," Jason Gardiner told her. "There was no softness in the arms, and you had stiff legs. But other than that you did beautifully."
