What's the best British soap? You decide

It's been a big year for Britain's top soaps, with some of the juiciest storylines ever. But which of them have impressed us the most?

There's a chance to find out in May as The British Soap Awards 2007 is screened on ITV1.

Among the categories are Villain Of The Year, Best Actor, Best Actress and, of course, Best British Soap.

Hollyoaks' Chris Fountain (Justin Burton), Corrie's Rob James-Collier (Liam Connor), Rupert Hill (Jamie Baldwin) and Richard Fleeshman (Craig Harris) are among those hoping to walk off with Sexiest Male.

Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen), Doctors' Diane Keen (Julia McGuire) and Emmerdale's Roxanne Pallett (Jo Stiles) are hoping to win Sexiest Female.

Weatherfield killer Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) could be awarded Villain Of The Year, but she has strong competition from fellow Street resident David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Hollyoaks' Gemma Bissix (Clare Cunningham).

And having won Soapstar Superstar, will Corrie's Antony Cotton (Sean Tully) clinch Best Actor, or will an outsider such as Doctors' Adrian Lewis Morgan (Jimmi Clay) land the gong?

As for Best Soap? Well there's no surprise to find EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors all in the running.
