Coronation Street's Jamie to quit
15/04/2007 - 09:14

Coronation Street will be without a Baldwin for the first time in 30 years when Rupert Hill – who plays Jamie Baldwin – quits the show later this year.
The 27-year-old actor has played the character since 2004, and in that time has seen the departure Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs), Warren (Danny Young), Danny (Bradley Walsh) and Frankie (Debra Stephenson). But he is now leaving to tackle new acting projects.
A Coronation Street insider told the News of the World that the pressures of fame had been behind Rupert’s decision to leave the soap when his contract ends later in 2007.
“Rupert loves being on the telly but not the constant stress of being in the public eye,” a source told the paper.
