Gillian Taylforth's partner has been ordered by a Barbados judge to take a six-month anger management course for assaulting a hotel receptionist, according to police.
Geoffrey Knights, the boyfriend of the former EastEnders star, was found guilty on Thursday of slapping a 25-year-old receptionist at the Tamarind Cove Hotel on the tropical island's west coast.
The 52-year-old, who is on his way back home after the case, will take the court-ordered anger management course in England, a police statement said.
Magistrate Ian Weekes also imposed a fine following the guilty verdict, although he did not disclose the amount.
It's not the first time the actress's partner - with whom she has two children - has been in trouble with the law.
He was convicted of assault in 1994, and last year was arrested for allegedly hitting the soap star although she later decided not to press charges.
