Emma Bunton to star in Neighbours

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton is to appear on Neighbours in late May.

The London episodes were filmed in 2006 and, apart from Bunton who will appear as herself, they feature Neil Morrissey... as a vicar!.. as well as Julian Clary, Michael Parkinson and former Neighbours actress turned pop star Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

Natalie, who now fronts Rogue Trader (of 'Voodoo Child' fame) will return to Neighbours for two weeks as bitchy Izzy Hoyland. But she's fallen on hard times in London and is pregnant and homeless.

Bassingthwaighte said of appearing in the London episode: "I thought, 'Am I going to remember how to play Izzy..?' But it felt quite easy. And I had two of the best actors to work with opposite me. It was a blast.

"Emma Bunton was sweet as pie and she was tiny. Julian was very quiet."

Neighbours' London episode featuring Emma will screen on BBC One on Thursday, May 24.
