EastEnders: Darren's the dad!

Another EastEnders cliffhanger came to an end on Friday when Darren Miller was revealed as the father of Heather Trott's baby son George.

In scenes shown on Friday's episode Heather was seen cradling baby George in hospital when a mystery person arrived.

She told the baby that it was his dad - at which point viewers saw a shocked-looking Darren run from the room.

And there are more dramatic scenes to come later this week as the news begins to sink in.

"It's a huge shock," Charlie G Hawkins, who plays Darren in the soap, told The Sun. "Yet holding George makes it all real."

Hawkins added that Darren's biggest concern is Libby finding out - but that could depend on how Shirley takes the news.

Deep down, Darren is a good guy and he wants to do the decent thing," he said. "But he knows he has to keep Shirley sweet.

"I think, gradually, he will want to be a part of the baby's life - but that all depends on how Libby would react if she knew."
