Emmerdale beats EastEnders in London Marathon

Despite running on home turf, EastEnders stars Kara Tointon (Dawn Swann) and Kellie Shirley (Carly Wicks) were beaten by the men from Emmerdalein Sunday's London Marathon.
Fastest of all was 58-year-old Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) who raced home in a very creditable 4:47:39. His on-screen son, Matthew Wolfenden (David) ran the 26.2 miles in 5:19:49, despite going easy on the pre-race training.
Kellie Shirley ran the course in 5:21:15 and her EastEnders co-star Kara toughed it out to make it up The Mall in 7:21:59.
Their efforts were put in the shade by Gordon Ramsay, running his eighth London Marathon. He came home in 4:20:11, a strong effort but almost an hour slower than he ran last year.
Former England rugby player and Strictly Come Dancing finalist Matt Dawson ran his first marathon in 4:35:39.
