JLS complete X Factor chart topping triple

X Factor runners-up JLS have knocked Cheryl Cole off the number one spot in the UK charts with their new single Everybody In Love.

The band - who finished second to Alexandra Burke in the 2008 series of the show - ended Cole's two-week reign at number one with her debut solo single Fight For This Love.

However Cole retained her place at the top of the album charts with her debut solo album 3 Words.

JLS' chart triumph makes them the third consecutive X Factor-related act to hit number one in the charts.

Last year's winner, Alexandra Burke, spent a week at the top with her recent single Bad Boys before being dethroned by Cole.

The band also hit number one with their debut single, Beat Again.

"To have our first two singles go to number one is more than we ever expected, said band member Oritse Williams.

Their debut album is released this week - and will see them going head to head with the new album from Robbie Williams in the battle for chart supremacy.

"It's absolutely amazing to be releasing our first album and great to be going up against a giant like Robbie - it's insane," said the band's Marvin Humes. "We are over the moon to be part of it."
