Peter Kay charity single will be 'world exclusive'

Peter Kay will be the star of this year's Children in Need single, with a video which promises to be an 'historic feat' featuring almost 100 famous faces.

But the song - along with the identities of its well-known contributors - is being kept under wraps until it's screened during the 30th edition of the charity appeal on November 20.

Creators promise a 'world exclusive' which has never been attempted before and has taken two years to create.

They hope the new single will help them top the £38 million raised for disadvantaged children and young people during last year's appeal.

It will be Peter Kay's fourth charity single in five years.

"It's taken two years of planning to create the video and I just know people are going to be both astonished and delighted," the Phoenix Nights star said. "It's been a real labour of love and the result is joyous!"

The comic's past hits include Is This The Way To Amarillo, I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) and Once Upon A Christmas Song.
