Dick and Dom to take on Ant and Dec?

Ant and Dec could soon have two new rivals on the Saturday night scene - children's TV stars Dick and Dom.

BBC executives apparently want the cheeky pair, whose Saturday morning hit Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow won a Bafta, to front the new National Lottery quiz, The Clock Is Ticking.

According to reports in The Mirror, bosses feel that the playful duo could prove a real ratings hit, although their only attempt at adult TV - a revival of 70s quiz Ask The Family - wasn't a success.

A source said: "There is a strong belief they can be big family stars. In the same way as Ant and Dec come from children's TV to get their own shows at the BBC, Dick and Dom are getting their chance."

Dick and Dom - real names Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood - hosted Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow for five series until last March.

Games such as Bogies, Make Dick Sick and Musical Splatues were a massive hit with younger viewers.

Can Dick and Dom rival Ant and Dec?
