'People text me Jedward are the new Ant & Dec'

Ant and Dec joked they could be the ones chomping witchetty grubs in a Bushtucker trial when Jedward replace them.

After their X Factor dream ended, the twins, 18, said they would love to replicate their telly heroes and become the next Ant and Dec. But the Geordie duo aren't ready to hand over the baton just yet.

Dec told The Sun: "I also keep getting texts saying 'Jedward are the new Ant and Dec'. And rather worryingly, a lot of them are from my girlfriend Georgie."

Ant quipped: "She's right. Two years' time, Jedward will be presenting and I'll be a contestant, crying my eyes out in the Bush telegraph."

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! presenter added: "But hopefully people aren't finished with the old Ant and Dec just yet. We've got a few years left haven't we?... Haven't we!"

It looks good for the pair, both 34, for a while yet, having recently signed a two-year contract extension with ITV.
