Gere says sorry for that kiss

Hollywood actor Richard Gere has apologised to the people of India for kissing Shilpa Shetty in public, according to reports.
Gere prompted outrage and an order for his arrest from a judge after groping the Celebrity Big Brother star at a recent Aids awareness event.
In a statement issued to his 'friends in India', the Pretty Woman star said: "It has never been, nor could it ever be, my intention to offend you.
"If that has happened, of course it is easy for me to offer a sincere apology.
"I would hope that the media could now end the circus around this episode and dedicate its resources to the eradication of HIV/Aids."
Gere, a staunch supporter of Aids awareness in India, added he felt terrible that Bollywood actress Shilpa carried 'a burden that is no fault of hers'.
