Dancing On Ice: the top 10 fight it out!

The competition is hotting up in Dancing On Ice - and this week's show brought with it a few surprises as the ten remaining skaters performed.

Among those finding favour with the judges this week were actress Emily Atack, who finally fared better after several weeks at the bottom of the scoreboard.

The sitcom star notched up 15 points from the panel - her highest score so far - following her routine with skating partner Fred Palascak.

"I am pleasantly surprised," Emma Bunton told her, "You looked confident, you looked sexy."

Another celebrity skater showing signs of improvement was Sharron Davies, whose routine to the track Fast Car even managed to impress the notorious hard to please Jason Gardiner.

"What a difference a week can make," he told the Olympic swimmer.

Elsewhere, Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon - who is favourite to win the series - did well once again, despite struggling to perfect the tricky 'headbanger' move which had injured coach Christopher Dean during rehearsals.

The move went off without a hitch, although Tamaddon did take a tumble in the routine which did not go unnoticed, and resulted in her sustaining a cut arm. However she still finished top of the judges' scoreboard.

"The quality is there, the tricks were fantastic," Karen Barber told her.

Danniella Westbrook, meanwhile, finished just behind her with 20 points - her highest score to date - following her tango-themed performance.

"Your performances are always strong," Bunton said, "and you can just see you put everything into it." Robin Cousins, meanwhile, told her she had shown "a completely different side to last week".

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson and Coronation Street actor Danny Young also did well - but it was a disappointing week for Boyzone's Mikey Graham, who scored just 15 out of 30 for his routine - and received a mixed response from the judges.

"It's not that you're not consistent," Barber told him, "It's just that you can't do it yet."

And once again Dr Hilary Jones found himself propping up the scoreboard with 11.5 points - well behind Mikey and Emily who finished joint second last.

The GMTV medic came in for some scathing criticism from Gardiner once again. "There's a lot of things that are missing from your performance, everything is slow and laboured," he said. "It's basically the same routine set to different music."

The results will be announced later on Sunday evening.
