Last year EastEnders bagged six of the British Soap Awards; this year just one.
But it can't be all gloom in Walford when you have actors like Kara Tointon still so excited about their day job.
She talked to whatsontv.co.uk on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards on Saturday about playing Dawn Swann... being a soap star... and having to refilm 70 scenes because her storyline was too similar to the Madeleine McCann abduction.
