Big Brother: it's bye bye to Ben!

Ben Duncan has become the sixth person to get the boot from the Big Brother 2010 house after losing out in an all-male eviction battle.

The 30-year-old writer and broadcaster - who received 52 per cent of the public vote - found himself facing the public vote alongside John James, Dave and Andrew, who was chosen by previous nominee Steve after he won the Save and Replace task.

He eventually found himself going head to head with John James after Andrew and Dave were told that they were safe from eviction.

It was the second time that Ben had faced the public vote. He was also nominated in the second week of eviction but on that occasion was saved after Govan was voted out by the public.

He thanked his fellow housemates for the experience before he left the house to the sounds of Shirley Bassey's Diamonds Are Forever - and a largely positive response from the crowd.

Afterwards he said that it was "weird" to be out of the house.

"You spend half your time in there thinking 'I'm in the Big Brother house, it's amazing, I'm rubbish at the tasks but it's a laugh'," he said.

"On the one hand you want to stay, on the other I have a lot of friends in the outside world who I really miss."

He also admitted that he had feelings for Rachel, saying she was his type, but denied he and Mario were anything other than close friends.

"He's a really lovely guy and he really looked after me when I went into the house," Ben said, "but I made it clear that there are some boundaries I don't cross."
