Coronation St's Natasha set for 'dramatic' exit

Coronation Street's Rachel Leskovac has revealed she is set for a "dramatic" exit that set a different direction for the soap.

The actress bows out of the show this year after more than two years as hairdresser Natasha Blakeman.

She told Inside Soap: "I feel very honoured to make such a dramatic exit. It's quite a different thing for Corrie to do."

She went on: "It would have been easy for them to write Natasha out quietly, because she'd been dipping in and out of the action for a while.

"They didn't have to invest that much in the character, but I'm so glad they did. I feel I've been given a fantastic opportunity."

Next week, viewers will see Natasha discover she is pregnant with Nick Tilsley's (Ben Price) baby, but he ends their relationship before she can break the news.

Reports have claimed the character will commit suicide, but these remain unconfirmed.

However, the soap's producer Phil Collinson has promised that Natasha will leave "a trail of devastation" behind her when she leaves.
