Anneka reportedly in talks about appearing in new series of Strictly
Anneka Rice, who shot to fame in the 1980s on game show Treasure Hunt, is apparently being lined up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Bookers on the BBC1 hit, according to The Sun, “are very keen to get Anneka” to take part and have already reportedly had a meeting with her about taking part.
The paper has also claimed that Shirley Ballas, 47, will return for a second series of Strictly as head judge along with judging regulars Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell.
While neither the Anneka or Shirley report has been officially confirmed, we do know for certain that dancer Brendan Cole won’t be returning when Strictly returns this autumn.
Anneka, 59, first appeared in her legendary jumpsuit on C4 show Treasure Hunt, where she went around the country hunting for clues, back in 1982. She also fronted Challenge Anneka on BBC1 and last October she took part in Celebrity Hunted on C4.
The four-part Celebrity Hunted special saw Anneka calling on friends in high places and her skills charming the public to try and evade her hunters.
Also last year Anneka popped up Channel 5’s Secrets of the National Trust, uncovering the mysteries of Croome Court, Worcestershire.
