Bruce: A Celebration will be a special show on BBC1 next year honouring Sir Bruce Forsyth

The BBC will stage “a very special event” to honour legendary entertainer Sir Bruce Forsyth on Wednesday 21st February 2018 – the day before what would have been his 90th birthday.

The special show, which is being filmed at the London Palladium where Bruce first shot to fame, will later be broadcast on BBC1. Billed as an “hour-long celebration,” it will feature a mixture of music, dance, entertainment and comedy, with the Strictly Band accompanying performances.

Bruce: A Celebration will include some of Sir Bruce’s favourite songs, plus dance performances and onstage tributes from guests with whom he shared a special connection. Sir Bruce died aged 89 in August this year.

Charlotte Moore, Director of Content says: “I couldn’t think of a more fitting tribute to our dear friend Bruce than this celebration at the Palladium – a theatre he so loved. Bruce was such a favourite with the BBC1 audience who I know will savour this hour of entertainment, music and commemoration of a true showbiz legend.”

Bruce: A Celebration will air next year.
