Monty’s journey continues to Istanbul, the meeting place of east and west, where he delights in an amazing display of tulips in the town’s park and reveals their significance in Ottoman gardens. Next Monty heads to India to explore the majestic tomb gardens, especially the one that surrounds one of the most iconic buildings in the world – the Taj Mahal. From the chaotic and vibrant streets of Delhi, Monty returns to the UK to demonstrate the influence the paradise garden has had upon our own horticulture. From a royal palace to a Bradford park, he reveals that once you start looking there are aspects of Islamic gardens everywhere. Rating: ****

Tour promoter John Giddings [pictured with U2’s Adam Clayton] presents the second part of this insider’s guide to the music business, which this week focuses on how live performances have become a billion-pound industry. John takes us backstage at U2’s last world tour, which made a record-breaking £500m, and talks about the logistics of putting on such a global event. He also recalls the early years of the Isle of Wight Festival, which he now runs, and the vision of its young promoters. Phil Collins, Earth Wind & Fire and The Police’s Stewart Copeland are among the contributors sharing their tour stories, and there’s some fabulous archive footage. Rating: *****

Slick R’n’B star Craig David is enjoying something of a revival these days, and tonight he joins Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty for a shift in their cafe. Craig talks about his Caribbean roots and cooks a traditional chicken dish. He also rustles up one of his favourites – a salmon and artichoke parcel. Meanwhile, Jimmy builds a homemade dehydrator to help a teacher educate her class on the benefits of dried fruit. Rating: ****
