Doctor Foster, 9.00pm, BBC1

Doctor Foster

Gemma has been the most entertaining – and most barking – doctor to ever grace our TV screens and we’ve loved her battle for revenge in this series. As it draws to an epic conclusion, the GP is trying to mend bridges with her distraught son Tom, and reveals some stunning secrets that go a long way to explaining her behaviour… With a spectacular scene that star Suranne Jones claims is the best of the two series to date, this finale is a total roller-coaster ride. Barbie: The Most Famous Doll in the World, 9.15pm, C4

Barbie: The Most Famous Doll in the World

She certainly doesn’t look it, but Barbie is almost 60 years old, and still as popular as ever. In this one-off doc, Mary Portas – expert on all things retail – explores the (mostly) pink and plastic world of the iconic doll, starting at the California HQ of manufacturers Mattel before going to meet a real-life version of Barbie’s fella Ken and visiting the National Barbie Collectors’ Convention in Houston, Texas. Mary also investigates Barbie’s flipside by asking if she’s to blame for issues to do with body image and a lack of job aspiration in young girls. Rating ****

Great British Bake Off, 8.00pm, C4

Great British Bake Off Paul and Prue

Our remaining bakers all hope to be a ‘choux-in’ tonight as (yes, you’ve guessed it!) it’s Pastry Week! This has always proved tough to master in the past – nobody wants the dreaded ‘soggy bottom’! But Paul and Prue have decided to up the ante even further with three particularly tricksy tasks, starting with savoury pies in the signature challenge. Now we’ve really got to know the bakers, we don’t want anyone to go! Rating: ****
