The Supervet 28th September

It’s not only children who can’t resist bouncing on a freshly made bed – one of Noel’s canine patients, a puppy, requires special surgery after fracturing his paw jumping off the bed. Elsewhere, Noel uses 3D-printed implants to operate on basset hound Barney, whose vertebrae have been causing him trouble, and a giant mastiff, aptly named Tank, requires surgery on both elbows to help ease severe arthritis. Another busy week! Rating: ***

Safe House, 9.00pm, ITV

Safe House

As the four-part series comes to an end, we probably all have our suspicions, but with many shady characters still lurking in the shadows, the identity of the Crow still remains a mystery. Tom (Stephen Moyer) is as determined as ever to find out who it is, but he becomes distracted when Sam confronts him and he has to come clean about his real reasons for leaving the police force. Just as this bombshell drops, Simon and Liam Duke arrive at the Safe House and unfortunately danger is not far behind… Can DCI Jane Burr (Sunetra Sarker) and DI Olly Vedder (Gary Cargill) put all of the pieces of the jigsaw together in time? And can Tom really stop the Crow once and for all? Rating: ****

Russia with Simon Reeve, 9.00pm, BBC2

Russia with Simon Reeve

Simon begins his three-part, 4000-mile journey in the far east of this vast land. The only people who call this freezing wilderness home are indigenous reindeer herders, who live an incredibly tough and nomadic life following their herds. In total contrast is the town of Vladivostok, which is changing rapidly as vast amounts of money are spent to turn it into the Las Vegas of the east. But wherever Simon and his team go they are not alone. They are followed, stopped, questioned, held for hours and even made to leave by the police or security services. Even Simon, surely one of the most easy-going people on the planet, gets rattled by the heavy-handed intrusion into his journey. Rating: ****
