Brian McFadden and fiancee Delta Goodrem have revealed that they plan to tie the knot in 2009.
The couple recently got engaged but want to be able to devote time to planning their nuptials.
Former Westlife singer Brian told Hello! magazine: “It’s more realistically going to be 2009, due to our massive workload. We don’t want our wedding to be squeezed in between Delta doing a gig and me shooting a video. We want to have space and time to enjoy it.”
Brian popped the question during a romantic trip to Bali, using a book he’d written about the pair and their relationship.
Former Neighbours actress and singer Delta revealed: “The night he proposed we had the restaurant to ourselves. We were looking out over the Indian Ocean and there were candles everywhere. Then Brian gave me the book to read.”
She added: “When I read the last page he got down on one knee and proposed. And when I saw those words, of course, I said yes. I wouldn’t say anything but yes. My make-up was ruined from crying! Brian had tears in his eyes too.”
And Brian, who has two daughters with ex-wife Kerry Katona, revealed that the couple might start a family together.
“Having children is certainly something we would like to do in time, should we be blessed,” he said. “But right now, we want to enjoy our engagement and be there for each other in life and career.”
