French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is set to take time out from political duties to perform alongside Metallica and Sir Paul McCartney, according to the BBC.
The Italian-French wife of President Nikolas Sarkozy will appear on BBC Two’s Later… With Jools Holland in two weeks’ time as the new series of the show gets under way.
The 40-year-old folk chanteuse, who tied the knot with President Sarkozy in February, will perform live tracks from her new album in a 30-minute programme scheduled for September 16 and then an extended hour-long edition to be screened on September 19.
She will appear alongside heavy metallers Metallica, Sir Paul McCartney and US alt rock stars Kings Of Leon.
Carla’s recent album, Comme Si de Rien N’Etait, which translates as As If Nothing Had Happened, was released in July and is her third album.
