Actor Alan Cumming has become the latest guest to take on the role of Big Brother in Celebrity Hijack, following on from Matt Lucas and Ian Wright.

The Scottish star – best known for his role in the blockbuster X-Men 2 – arrived on Sunday morning, much to the delight of the housemates.

“I love him,” Jay said after Alan revealed himself to be in charge. “I know, it’s going to be fun, whatever we have to do,” Jade agreed.

And he wasted no time in setting the housemates a theatrical task – one which tested their acting skills to the limit.

The group were told they had to assume the persona of a stereotypical movie character and, after being provided with some acting coaching and a costume, stay in character throughout the day.

Later on, they were told they would have to show off their new found thespian skills with an amateur dramatic style play.

Jeremy was the first to get into character, taking on the role of farm boy ‘Norman’, while Emilia was then transformed into Marilyn Monroe lookalike ‘Nancy’.

Nathan and Jay then found themselves becoming a pair of superheroes, ‘Fabman’ and ‘Dobbin’.

Victor, however, appeared to have gotten the worst part – as Fabman’s arch nemesis ‘Dr Loon’, he was ordered to dress in a mullet wig and crushed velvet suit. Anthony fared little better, dressing up in drag as southern lady ‘Aunt Blanche’.

The second part of the task saw the housemates given 45 minutes to prepare an improvised 15 minute play which, Alan told them, had to feature “a chase, a love affair, a secret exposed, an argument, a murder and a mistaken identity”.

However despite their best efforts – and a play featuring lots of murders and plot twists aboard a big ship – the housemates failed the task.

“You didn’t work well as a group, you lacked discipline and the performance was terrible,” Alan told them. “There was no clear narrative.”

As a result, the housemates lost out on the chance to win a luxury dinner and will instead have to survive on basic rations.
