Brainy beauty queen Jade has become the first housemate to be voted off Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack by the public.

The 21-year-old, who faced fellow nominees Victor and Jeremy, burst into tears as Dermot O’Leary announced her name, and told her she had just 30 seconds to say her goodbyes and “grab her tiara”.

Circus performer Victor – who had been favourite for the chop – looked relieved as the result was revealed.

However, there was controversy in the house following Jade’s departure, after derogatory comments from Big Mouth presenters James Corden and Matthew Horne were heard by the other housemates.

As she made her exit the pair said: “Runner up in Great Britain’s beauty pageant, loser of Big Brother, leave! Get out and be famous for a bit.”

Nathan described the comments as “sick”, while Victor was equally enraged. “They are treating us like animals,” he said. “If Big Brother think they can get away with treating Jade like that they have another think coming.”

And Jade was equally taken aback by her reception upon returning to the outside world, with a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd. “Why are they booing me?” she asked Dermot afterwards.

Despite the crowd’s response, however, she remained enthusiastic about her time in the house.

“I had so much fun, I really didn’t want to go,” she said. “It was like the most amaing period. I had a great time.”
