Gail Platt is in for a fright when she receives a ghostly message from her dead killer husband Richard Hillman...

It has been almost 15 years since Coronation Street’s Gail Platt discovered her husband Richard Hillman was a murderer. He then tried to drive Gail and her family to their doom but ended up drowning in the canal.

Or did he?

In a killer twist, Richard will ‘return’ to Weatherfield this March via a psychic medium, Rosemary, who has a chilling message from Richard to Gail which is sure to leave her super-spooked!

As far as we know, Brian Capron who played Richard from 2001 to 2003 isn’t returning to the role. But quirky Rosemary will be played by Sophie Thompson, who soap fans may remember as Phil Mitchell’s short-lived wife Stella Crawford in EastEnders. Stella jumped to her death on their wedding day and Phil was later arrested and accused of her murder!

“Sophie is perfect for the role of Rosemary and we are excited she is joining the cast and working alongside Helen Worth (Gail) and Sue Nicholls (Audrey),” said a Corrie spokesperson. “Gail and her mum are convinced she is getting messages from Audrey’s late husband Alf and Gail’s former husbands too. But it remains to be seen if she is all she claims to be.”
