Dancing on Ice 2018 – From Brooke Vincent to Cheryl Baker, here’s the full confirmed line-up for the return of the ITV show in the new year…
Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent, 25
Best known for: Playing Sophie Webster in Corrie
Brooke says: “I love a challenge. Ice skating – what an amazing skill. Next year I can go with the girls and be like ‘I can do this, I can do that’ and they’ll be holding on to the sides.
“I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds to get in them leotards. I started my ice training on Saturday. If I get injured at least I’ll look sparkly on the way to the hospital!”
Singer Cheryl Baker, 63
Best known for: Winning the Eurovision Song Contest as part of Bucks Fizz with Making Your Mind Up in 1981
Cheryl says: “I’ve started training. It was such huge fun. I’ve never skated apart from when I was about 12. I am feeling nervous.”
Former Bake Off Winner Candice Brown, 32
Best known for: Winning The Great British Bake Off in 2016 with more than 15 million people tuning in!
Candice says: “My friends call me Bambi on ice and that’s just normal day-to-day!”
Ex-Rugby Star Max Evans, 34
Best known for: Winning 44 caps for Scotland.
Max says: “I haven’t done any skating since I was a kid, and this is completely different having to skate on live television. I’ve had two training sessions which have hurt my feet a lot. We’ve all had a dance, which is familiar territory, but skating is so not…”
Reality star Kem Cetinay, 21
Best known for: Winning Love Island
Kem says: “I still can’t believe I’m going to be on Dancing on Ice! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d be strapping on a pair of skates and dancing in some Lycra. Anyone who knows me will know how competitive I am, so I’m going to work very hard to stay on my feet! I can’t wait to get my skates on.”
Singer Jake Quickenden, 29
Best know for: Being on The X Factor and being runner-up on I’m A Celeb in 2014
Jake says: “‘I’m more worried about injuring my partner. The last thing I want to do is kick someone in the face with ice skates on.”
Former England cricketer Monty Panesar, 35
Best known for: Being a top spin bowler for the England cricket team
Monty says: “This is a great opportunity to keep myself fit and motivated and try a different sport. I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be very exciting,”
Weatherman Alex Beresford, 37
Best known for: Being the Good Morning Britain weather chap
Alex says: “I literally started training on Tuesday so I’m at the beginning of my journey. I’ve wanted to do this show for ages. It’s been the biggest secret I’ve ever kept.”
Actress Donna Air, 38
Best known for: Well, she was in Byker Grove of course!
Donna says: “It is absolutely terrifying. It’s exciting though, it’s looking like it’s going to be a great series. It’s really difficult.
“Apparently my posture’s terrible so I’ve got to work on that. I need to build more core strength.”
Athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, 28
Best known for: For being a top 400 metres sprinter and hurdler.
Perri says: “It is an opportunity and I was told in the past I’d never be able to run again and that was not nice to be told. Now the fact my body feels good, I’ve been given a challenge, an opportunity, I’m going to go give it my best shot.”
Coronation Street star Antony Cotton, 42
Best known for: Playing Sean in Corrie.
Antony says: “Finally I can talk about bruises, blisters and bloody boots…”
Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring, 39
Best know for: Playing Cindy Cunningham in the C4 soap.
Stephanie says: “It’s quite a daunting challenge. The first day was pretty tough. I thought I’d be better than I was. I fell over once. It’s very technical; it’s the way you hold yourself, the positioning of your feet. Balancing is the hardest thing to do. I thought ‘well I can do yoga, I can obviously skate on ice…. no Steph you can’t!”
That’s the complete line-up!
