EastEnders actor Sam Strike has joined the cast of Silent Witness and will guest star in the new series of the BBC drama alongside Emilia Fox.
Sam will play David Hamilton, son of Tony Hamilton and Lydia Hamilton, who holds his family together during his father’s prison sentence. After Tony’s release David will also sacrifice his chance to go to university to provide emotional support for his parents after a family tragedy…
Sam recently left EastEnders, where he played Johnny Carter. A big hit with fans, Sam won great praise for his portrayal of the gay character, particularly during the scene in which he came out to his father Mick, played by Danny Dyer.
“I’m a fan of Silent Witness,” says Sam. “So when the opportunity arose to be a part of it, I jumped at the chance. I really admire David Drury as a director, so to work with him is very exciting. It’s always great to play a character outside of your comfort zone, especially on a platform as successful as Silent Witness.”
Silent Witness will return to BBC One early next year.
