Emma Watson’s appearance in a BBC TV adaptation of Noel Streatfeild’s Ballet Shoes is hitting the big screen in the US

The Harry Potter star played the aspiring ballerina Pauline Fossil in the made-for-TV movie of the children’s classic novel, which was shown on the BBC last Christmas.

The stellar cast included Emilia Fox, Victoria Wood and Richard Griffiths, but according to The Independent it is 18-year-old Emma’s personal status that has lead to the film being promoted to the big screen in America.

The young actress also recently signed a 3-million pound contract to become the face of Chanel last month.

Last week she learned she had achieved straight A grades at A-level and reportedly hopes to secure a place at Cambridge to read philosophy.
