The makers of BBC1’s hit Merlin bound back onto our screens this autumn with their ambitious new family drama, Atlantis.

Set on the legendary island, which supposedly sank into the sea, danger is never far away for the fantasy adventure’s hero Jason (centre) played by Jack Donnelly.

Mark Addy (right) is an unlikely Hercules, while War Horse sensation Robert Emms plays a pubescent version of mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras.

The 13-part series, filmed in both Wales and Morocco, is inspired by Greek mythology and written by Misfits’ creator Howard Overman. It also stars Sarah Parish, Juliet Stevenson and Jemima Rooper.
