The producers of Netflix's drama The Crown, about the early years of Queen Elizabeth II's life, have released a new trailer, Two Worlds

Netflix has released a new trailer for its epic drama The Crown, about the early years of Queen Elizabeth II’s life, which begins with the young princess preparing to become queen.

The 25-year-old newlywed is then faced with the daunting prospect of leading the world’s most famous monarchy while the British Empire is in decline and the world is about to experience the Cold War.

The new trailer features Great Britain reeling from the devastation of war, and focuses on Matt Smith as a troubled husband, Prince Phillip, while Vanessa Kirby appears as Princess Margaret, who’s about to fall in love with Group Captain Peter Townsend.

But it’s not a romance her sister or society approves of…

The Crown reunites acclaimed writer Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) with award-winning director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) and producer Andy Harries (The Queen).

The Crown stars Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II, Matt Smith as Prince Philip, John Lithgow as Sir Winston Churchill, Victoria Hamilton as the Queen Mother, Jared Harris as King George VI, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and Dame Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary, among others.

All 10 episodes of The Crown premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 4.
