Geri Halliwell has admitted she’s pleased she lost out on a judging role on The X Factor.
The former Spice Girl was apparently in the running for a seat at the judges’ table last year, as a replacement for Tulisa Contostavlos, but didn’t get the job after failing to impress when she was a guest judge.
Geri, 41, told The Sun it was probably for the best that she wasn’t picked for the judging panel, which now consists of Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.
“Thank God sometimes I don’t get what I want when I want it. I’d have probably f***** it up,” she said.
However, Geri has landed a job on another reality show, Australia’s Got Talent. The singer revealed she got the position through her Spice Girls pal Mel B.
She said: “Melanie B and I had our issues. It’s no secret. It was a very fiery, intense relationship.
“But 15 years later, she couldn’t do Australia’s Got Talent for contractual reasons. She picked up the phone and went ‘Geri, you should do it, and I’ll speak to the producer.'”
