Shaun Of The Dead star Simon Pegg sent Star Wars and James Bond fans into a frenzy yesterday.
The actor hinted that Daniel Craig could make a surprise cameo in the new Star Wars film The Force Awakens.
Shaun Of The Dead star Pegg himself was rumoured to be appearing as a Stormtrooper in the new movie, but he denied it in The Sun.
“I wasn’t a Stormtrooper,” he said. “Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”
He then added: “I shouldn’t have said that.”
Cue massive speculation and excitement on the internet.

It’ll be obvious which Stormtrooper is Daniel Craig in the new Star Wars bc he’ll intro himself with, “The name’s Trooper. Storm Trooper.”

But Pegg clearly soon regretted his slip, as he moved to clarify he was only repeating a rumour he’d heard elsewhere.
He told the website Collider: “Why is everyone leaping on this? It was a rumour last summer, wasn’t it? I read it in the paper. It may be untrue, like most of the other rumours, like Cumberbatch and Cruise being in it.”
Still, just because it’s a rumour doesn’t mean it’s not true…
