David Walliams will be the host of week one for ITV's new series The Nightly Show, featuring guest hosts presiding over a topical, fun nightly half-hour programme
A brand new nightly entertainment programme, The Nightly Show, has been announced by ITV, which will feature a different celebrity host each week – starting with David Walliams.
The 30-minute episodes will be broadcast five nights a week at 10pm for an eight-week season and will be recorded as live at 6pm the same day at a central London location.
David said: “I am thrilled to be the first host for this brand new show for ITV.”
The Nightly Show will include topical monologue, studio games, celebrity guests and experts on various subjects.
ITV’s head of comedy entertainment Peter Davey said: “We’re really excited about launching this bold new show, and delighted that David will kick off what will be an eight-week entertainment treat for viewers.”
Second Act Productions, who will produce the series, said: “We’re thrilled that David has agreed to kick off the series by hosting week one of The Nightly Show.
“He’s a major talent and will set the tone of what we hope will be a very exciting series.”
The Nightly Show is set to debut in 2017.
