Lily Allen has snubbed Piers Morgan’s offer of appearing on his Life Stories series – unless he gives £1 million to charity.

The pair exchanged a number of messages on Twitter, after Lily posted: “Just been asked to do Piers Morgan Life Stories Ummmmmmmm……………….”

Piers then tried to persuade Lily by goading her, saying: “Come on you big wuss, you know you want to..” and “I know that part of you thinks you can take me down on national TV. Good luck with that one little lady…”

Lily clarified that she could only justify coming on his show and talking for the first time about her grief since miscarrying last year, by giving money to a charity that ‘helps women to overcome the kind of grief that I have had to experience’, adding that she didn’t need his talk show to enhance her career.

Piers was quick to agree with her cause, saying ‘No woman should ever have to go through what you went through’, and that it would be a very honorable reason to appear on his show.

But despite saying he’d get ITV to make a substantial five-figure donation to a charity of Lily’s choice, the singer said she’d only do it for £1million for SANDS, a stillbirth and neo-natal death charity for bereaved parents.

The star stood her ground saying: “Those are my terms. I’ve got no interest in coming on your show, you’ve been asking me for years.”

Finally, Piers wrote: “You’ll change your mind. They always do. Right, must dash- Clooney awaits.”

Piers begins his new US talk show Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN on Tuesday, January 18.
