Louis Smith will be performing a special gymnastics display with other Olympic and Commonwealth medal-winning gymnasts when BBC1’s celebrity reality show Tumble kicks off this Saturday.

Joining Louis – who’s a judge on Tumble and won silver at London 2012 – are Max Whitlock, Nile Wilson and Kristian Thomas, who along with the Strictly star helped England win Commonwealth team gold. They also won three individual Commonwealth golds between them. Also involved in the acrobatic display on Tumble are Team Scotland’s gold medal-winner Dan Purvis and Adam Cox, who won a team silver.

“Gymnastics has definitely come to the eyes of so many more people in the UK in the last couple of years since our Olympic success, and Tumble is only going to make things better,” insists Louis, who’s on the Tumble judging panel with former GB gymnast Craig Heap, Romanian Olympic legend Nadia Comaneci and Cirque/aerial performer Sebastien Stella.

Louis added: “Families are going to be loving Tumble. In schools I go to there are so many kids now doing gymnastics. I’m very excited.”

Tumble premieres on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC1.
