The MasterChef finalists have worked with some pretty fiery chefs en route to Thursday’s final – and they each know what kind of chef they could be in the future.
Christopher Gates, 24, Andy Oliver, 26, and Mat Follas, 42, can currently be seen on BBC2 battling it out for this year’s MasterChef title.
And while the identity of the winner is being kept under wraps until Thursday’s final showdown, all three contestants have a clear idea of what kind of chef they will be as they further their culinary careers – and they wouldn’t worry about being bossy.
Chris, the youngest contestant in the final, told whatsontv.co.uk: “I like things done in a certain way so I might be difficult to work with at times but that would be in the future. I’ll take it one step at a time.”
Andy, a comeback contestant from last year’s series, added: “I think we’d all be, to some extent, a bit dictatorial in the kitchen.”
Engineer Mat agreed, adding: “In a professional kitchen, other people don’t have the same image in their head as you have, so you do have to be somewhat dictatorial.”
The final of MasterChef, hosted by John Torode and Gregg Wallace, can be seen on Thursday at 8pm on BBC2.
