The Apprentice‘s Nick Hewer says last year’s Junior Apprentice stars were more honest and less mean than the adult Apprentices.

Speaking to on the red carpet at Wednesday’s National Television Awards, Nick said the tasks were the same, but the youngsters were ‘more honest and less beastly’ to each other than the adults were.

“They put the grown up apprentice’s to the sword a bit”.

Speaking about the format of the main show, Nick said the last series was probably the best yet.

“You can always accuse it of being samey, but the last series that finished not so long ago was wonderful, fresh, new and engaging”, he said.

Junior Apprentice was nominated for Best Factual Programme against Celebrity Masterchef, Who Do You Think You Are? and the eventual winners Top Gear.
