It's your last chance to vote in this year's NTAs hosted by Dermot O'Leary and the shortlist includes all your favourite soaps plus top stars such as Suranne Jones, Sheridan Smith, David Tennant, Tom Hardy and Jenna Coleman...
The final round voting for the NTAs starts today and you’ll see who the winners are when the National Television Awards is shown live from London’s O2 on ITV on January 23, hosted by Dermot O’Leary.
There are some juicy battles in store in some new awards categories. The brand new Crime Drama award will see Line of Duty against Broadchurch, Little Boy Blue and Sherlock. The NTAs are also paying tribute to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth by naming a new gong after him – and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The Graham Norton Show, Celebrity Juice and All Round to Mrs Browns will all have the honour of battling it out for the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.
There’s stiff competition in the Drama award with Doctor Foster and date-rape drama Liar locking horns with Call The Midwife, Casualty and Game of Thrones. Meanwhile, The Best Drama Performance is probably too close to call this year. Broadchurch’s David Tennant and Victoria’s Jenna Coleman are up against Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones, Sheridan Smith for The Moorside and Tom Hardy, who set pulses racing in Taboo.
The battle among the soaps is fiercer than ever, especially after Emmerdale pulled off a shock win last year. Coronation Street, and EastEnders will be determined to steal back the soaps gong and Hollyoaks will be hoping for an upset of their own thanks to storylines including Amy Barnes’ murder.
The new look Great British Bake Off is up against the hugely popular Love Island and others for Best Challenge Show, while we await with baited breath to see if Ant and Dec are named Best TV presenter for the 17th time, but can Bradley Walsh, Holly Willoughby or Phillip Schofield spring a surprise and steal their crown?
