Car Share star Peter Kay surprised fans with a live stage appearance this weekend!
Peter Kay made a surprise appearance at a charity screening of his hit BBC 1 comedy series Car Share this weekend.
The comedian has dropped out of the limelight since cancelling his Live Arena Tour just before Christmas, due to “unforseen family circumstances“.
So thousands of fans were delighted when Peter took to the stage at the Blackpool Opera House on Saturday night, during a special charity screening of the last-ever episodes of Car Share.
Lucky ticket holders got to see the series finale plus an unscripted special of the BAFTA-award winning sitcom, Car Share, which follows supermarket assistant manager John Redmond (Peter Kay) and promotions rep Kayleigh Kitson (Sian Gibson) as they travel to and from work in a company car sharing scheme.
Peter thanked fans for their on-going support and said: “Enjoy the last ever episode of Car Share. Don’t tell anyone the end or tell anyone about any hedgehogs!”
The screening, attended by 3000 people, was held to raise money for The Lily Foundation, a charity that helps to improve the lives of children with Mitochondrial Disease.
The series finale of Car Share will be shown on BBC 1 in May.
